You know, as a straight male, it would be easy to say I don't have any idea what you're talking about, but the fact is that I have friends that like to go to C/W bars, and I don't care much for those myself, so when that's the plan, I pass.
So don't go. Go out with them when the destination is interesting to you. No problem.

going out to bars, in general, is a real bore....let alone putting up with the nonsense of "I'd like to ....that, I'd like to ...." The talk is no different, whether gay or straight, but it is all boring. And the older we get, the less tolerance for boredom we have. Unless you can have a good time going out with your friends, why go in the first place? It is not something that is expected, it usually does not further a career, and I see no reason to subject yourself to it. It is hard enough to endure a few hours in a gay bar, let alone a boring straight bar (it is a toss up as to which is more boring at this point...I am not playing any favorites here). I will have to temper my answer with the fact that I do not particularly like to drink...so take it for what it is worth. Good luck
I have zero bias towards straights...that is foolish. I just no longer enjoy bars of any kind, and when I do go out, I at least want to be able to let it all hang out. ..... well, maybe not all, but you get my drift.

Hold on a minute, I thougt the whole gay rights thing is suppose to be about being able to get along in the general society. This would mean being gay or straight and being among others without being judged. You are acting like you should only be in situations that are gay orientated. Next you'll be stomping for your own gay only state.
As a black man I learn a lot by being around my fellow whites, asians, hispanic, ect. I begin to realize that I am just as culturally significant as any of them. Likewise a gay man can learn certain things about straight men by occasionally hanging out with them.
A gay man is welcome in my company as long as he knows up front that I am not into his lifestyle (respect, respect, erase, erase).

Can't help you there and I do understand exactly where you are coming from. Short of a roll of quarters and hoping for a video game or pool table there isn't much there unless they actually find a booth to sit and talk with you.
