First unhook both lights and see if the dim one gets bright when plugged into the bright side's wire. If it stays dim, the light is wearing out and simply needs replacement. If the dim light gets bright, it's time to trace the dim side's wire all the way back looking for a bad connection or damaged section. However, the bad connection is usually at the plug right at the back of the lamp.
