alright, so me and my girl are having this discussion over whether you say "pay attention" or "put attention." now i have never in my life heard anyone else say " put attention. have you? which do you think makes more sense? who should win this argument?

pay attention is right but it does not make sense!!! putting attention makes sense because you put the attention on the person who's saying or doing something

I guess it depends on what you are doing. If someone is talking to you, it would be pay attention, if it were an inanimate object, for example while driving you could put your attention on the road

Pay attention makes more since b/c that's all i've ever heard and your girl is trying to think deep and make you crazy trying to figure things out .... good luck with that.....

you totally put attention. how can you pay attention, it's not money or something. if you are directing your attention towards something, you are putting your attention on them or it. she's right. but you should deff get some tonight for being such a cool guy.
