Hi there. You would definitely want to consider the type of business you would incorporating. From there, match it to the type of business category from the California Corporations site.

You may want to consider incorporating in Delaware also. Check out the pros and cons for opening a corp in Delaware and then possibly foreign in California or just domestic in California.

Based on the type of corporation you file in Delaware or California will be the amount you pay to incorporate; i.e., secretarial might run you $100 why as computer software would may be much more.

Think about what you want to do and how you can categorize it and save money on incorporation. You may just want to incorporate in your state first.
