Firework sales should be banned and everyone could then go to proper organised displays,. Most of these displays are free and have much better fireworks than the ones you can buy anyway. I spent several months living rough in my twenties (I was pregnant for some of the time) and always give to the homeless. There's no way I could spend money on fireworks and not feel guilty about it.

Tho' I agree that there is a lot of excess in our society and the world would be a better place if we all pitched in to help out those less fortunate, but where does one stop?
Should you only be allowed to live in a small apartment as opposed to a 3 bedroom house? You could give the extra money to poor people. No more vacations, there are starving people somewhere. Do you really need 5 pairs of shoes? Or cable TV, or the Internet for that matter? All sounds a little communist, if you ask me.
People should give what they can and I believe everyone should help as much as possible....but don't judge others because some can't afford it.

I agree to a point but you could also say how can someone spend money on alcohol or drugs when there are people starving in third world countries, im not trying to imply that all homeless people are drunks or druggies but wealth and what you spend it on is relative to how much you can afford to use for luxuries etc.

True homeless people should be helped and in reality are usually there only for a short time until they get back on their feet, this is when they need help. On the other hand you have the street people who are there by choice. It is their way of life and for them it is a life of little to no responsibility at all. They have no intention of trying to live another life. It is their life by choice and is hard for most of us to understand.

There are too many hungry people it the world, but sadly a lot of people on our streets have an addiction to drugs and /or drink, and giving them money just keeps them on the streets. I try to give money to charities that support them and get them off the streets.

I'm afraid people have the right to spend their money on what they choose too. There's far to much going on in the world most people live for today...
