I've received a total of 3 violation notices since I started participating in Answers. 2 of them were justified, but I hadn't received one on maybe 6 months until a week or two ago.
I am traveling to Orlando next weekend for a conference. I've never been there, so I don't know the weather there this time of year. I asked a question about what clothes I should wear and they calling it chatting and personal communications. What a joke.

I have not received one ...yet, but then I am very new here - not even a week. I did read the Community Guidelines carefully, so I am very careful about my posts.
I have visited the Answers Forum and got a REAL eyeful on some of the happenings, especially about "unjustified" Violation Notices. You are probably right about some of yours being truly unjustified. But I have seen many posters here who complain VERY (TOO) LOUDLY about it, and judging by their actions of STILL posting inappropriate questions, find them to be unbelievable of their "innocence".
No, you're not paranoid, it is that there has been too many postings with violations that it practically become the "norm", and the Y!A Team is overwhelmed - not enough staff to deal with the problem. It may be that there are "bots" that don't actually investgate, just issue the violations accordingly via the complaint e-mail.
I would refute your claims with the Y!A Team.

None so far today, but the day is very early yet. On Friday I got 16 violations and 4 questions deleted. I've had so many violations I can't even remember. Most of the time I'll just delete them without actually seeing what I was in violation for, I am sure it was because someone didn't like what I had to say, which fine that is their opinion, I am entitled to mine, I don't go around looking for answers that I don't like and report them to Yahoo.

I have received a few, now I am more careful because I don't want anyone to think I am a troll, and really enjoy Yahoo Answers for the most part. But I will not tolerate anyone's abusive questions, either. So, just be careful and Yahoo won't send you any violation notices. Sometimes when you word something a certain way it can be taken the wrong way. Anyway, hope that helps. :)

Quite a few lately and I don't think it's justified. But look at the questions and you can see some folks have been taken off in the last 10 minutes. Refresh and take a look at them. special ed is gone, as is the schnauzer, the new snitch killer is gone too. Who's next?

I've received probably around 100, maybe a few more.
I consider about 5 - 10 of them justified.

I have only received one violation on YA, and do have to admit it was justified. Another user was being a jerk, so I posted a "Just how screwed up is (user name here)?" type of question.
It was actually worth the points penalty to put it on there, though. Made me feel better. :-)

I got one for calling GDUBYA a JERK. And another for not answering in the correct format which was not true. I asked around and it appears that someone was just deleting for the hatefulness of it. In mine I did not curse, just said Bush was a JERK. WIth big type.
Some people write that if you follow all the rules you won't get zonked. But I am seeing that is not true.
P.S. I will being calling Bush a JERK for the rest of my days.
