We haven't gotten the oil flowing yet. Halliburton hasn't made enough money yet. The troops will be there until at least the end of Bush's administration (and that end can't come fast enough!).

No, it's only just begun.
The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Hussein ever since Desert Storm, when George H.W. Bush was criticized for not 'finishing the job'. That was the only reason Hussein was tried and convicted; the Bush dynasty wanted to record its own personal victory against their arch enemy.
The only other reason we illegally and unconstitutionally attacked Iraq, who in no way threatened, provoked, or attacked the U.S.A., was because Dick Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so that he and his Exxon-Mobil buddies can get richer and richer and richer.
The soldiers aren't coming home for decades - not until we've sucked every single drop of OIL out of that land.
If that's not the case, WHY is the United States building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the headquarters of the 'new' Iraqi puppet government which Bush and Cheney installed?
If our mission was to bring democracy to Iraq, why don't we go after all the other evil despots that rule their own dictatorships around the world? Because those other dictators have no easily-accessible or transportable OIL. So, the U.S. allows the genocide, rapes and murders to continue unabated.
Immediately following World War II, the armaments industry realized just how profitable 'war' could be. So it bought up all the politicians, hired pricey lobbyists, and formed special interest groups to promote and encourage 'war'.
Thus, the U.S. got involved in the Korean Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the Cold War; Vietnam; and Desert Storm. The huge U.S. military-industrial complex needed another 'war' to sustain its profitability. The nameless, faceless, sub-humans who control the federal government from behind-the-scenes ordered George W. Bush to declare 'war' on Iraq, just as it will order him to declare 'war' on Iran by spring, 2007. And for the very same reasons we're in Iraq: OIL and military-industrial profits. If there was no 'war', federal government contractors, suppliers, vendors, and ad visors would all be out of business.
PREDICTION: If it appears that there will be a Democratic landslide victory in November, 2008, the Bush handlers will execute another fake 'terrorist' attack on U.S. soil (this time somewhere in the Midwest, perhaps Chicago or St. Louis). They will then order Bush to declare martial law, claiming that a change in administration would not be in the best interests of national security. That will give Republicans time to groom Jeb Bush as the next Presidential puppet. -RKO-

No.... this is a silly question. Just because Saddam has been convicted doesn't mean there is no more oil left. Do you really think we went to war to get Saddam out of power because he was a bad person?

When the Iraqi people can defend their new government against terrorists (often funded by the likes of Iran) on their own, then we can leave.

If we leave now, the people who will take over the government will be just as bad as Saddam.

The Iraq conflict hasn't been about Saddam since "Mission Accomplished" three years ago.

We're there on an entirely unrelated mission -- one that is open ended, and likely to last for decades.

Bush and Rumsfeld extended some troops tours of duty for 4 months, recently,, Democrats,, will have to convince Bush-Cheney to redeploy US soldiers for the good of America and Iraq,, maybe now we can hunt down Osama bin Laden for the attacks of 9-11

no. see in this case cutting off the snakes head only made three more grow. unfortunately we are dealing with a huge group of people who hate our guts. plus leaving the Iraqis alone just so they can be ruled by the next fundamental ruler who kills his own people really doesn't sit right with me.
