Yes you can actually. If a person is talking to you and they start to look with their eyes up the left, they are trying to come up with something to say, meaning they are fabricating the story. If they are looking to the right they are trying to remember every detail of something, in other words, telling the truth. Good luck.

Not by looking, but by asking a detailed question about the subject at hand.
Often they'll stutter or lose their train of thought or what-not.
It's amazing how many people pretend to be geniuses at a subject but at the first hint of a question, they back away.

With people I know well, I can, which is actually one of the reasons I don't talk much, unless I know what I'm talking about. I give myself away all the time!

No, I tend to be harsh on first impressions, but not on the basis that they know what they're talking about, rather their sincerity. That doesn't make sense... nevermind, my brain is fried...
