Why would christians vote for people who don't hold the view of the bible?

For lidakamo...I'm sorry you didn't understand the question. It was specifically about Christian beliefs and abortions, not hurricanes, poverty, hunger, etc. I'll pray for you and all the others who think that killing an unborn child is okay.

Sadly because too many people who call thierself Chrsitain are not really Christain, and have justified all sorts of sins as being ok.

I personally think that some Christians will vote for some one who belives in abortion because (a) they don't believe that since the baby is unborn its not taking a human life from the earth or(b) they dont read the Bible or comprehend it enough to know the Bible says its not right.

Chances are that any candidate for a public office will have a belief on many, many issues and NOT ALL of them will be the way that a voter sees them. The voter has to determine which of the issues are the most important to him and what candidate believes the same way on the MAJORITY of the issues and vote accordingly. Anyone that thinks a candidate will have the EXACT same beliefs as he has is sadly mistaken OR extremely fortunate. I dare say, that most people, including Christians will vote for the person that they feel is the best person for that particular office.

Pro-life and voting

These questions are always the same....you ask why but don't really listen to the answers or the reasons do you?

Pro-life voting means your a Republican....thats what your getting at right?

So if I am against abortion I must vote Republican.

Well here is my answer as a Catholic Pro-life Voter as well as the opinon of a very outspoken Nun from my community.

1. Real Pro-life voters do not vote in favor of a war based on lies that kills our American servicemen & innocent Iraq civilians.

2. Real Pro-life voters do vote for gun control

3. Real Pro-life voters care about people who cannot care for themselves (insurance, welfare programs)

4. Real Pro-life voters support Planned Parenthood so teenagers & young woman have the needed education about not getting pregnant in the first place.

5. Real Pro-life voters care about children even after their born. (education)

6.) Real Pro-life voters know that Republicans use the abortion issue just for votes. Even though there is suppose to be a seperation of church and state.

And many others...

No one likes the idea of abortion, no one likes to have an abortion, neither side.

I will be voting for people who hold a bigger view of the bible.

I am Pro-life.....Pro-human being....I will be voting Democrat

***
In responce to all the "thou shall not kill" quotes, please tell me why the Republican Party is Pro-Death Penalty & Pro-Firearms, and against national heathcare. Too poor for heath insurance/too bad.....my God wouldn't want me to vote for this!

The simplest answer is: to choose the lesser of two evils. Christians might vote for a candidate who disagrees with them on issue A but agrees with them on issue B - especially if they feel that the candidate has little chance of influencing issue A but can significantly influence issue B,

This is why it is so important to read everything you can about the people who are running for public office so you will know if they believe and support the same causes that you do.. Of course there are liars in every political party, but the truth eventually comes out and bites them in the behind.

i thought that you are supposed to separate church and state. i know if everyone minded their own damn business the world would be a better place. but everyone must let everyone know about their own values. give me a break. there are better issues to talk about war, hurricane katrina, hunger, poverty, and disease. let's fix this first.

Democrats are not Christians, they are heathens who believe abortion is a sanctioned form of birth control. The Democratic party has taken such unpopular positions on Christian values, that they are quickly losing their right to be considered as loyal and trusted neighbors.
