"The hanging of Saddam Hussein will turn to hell for the Americans," said Vitaya Wisethrat, a respected Muslim cleric in Thailand, where a bloody Islamic insurgency is raging in the country's south.

"The Saddam case is not a Muslim problem but the problem of America and its domestic politics," he said. "The Americans are about to vote in a midterm election, so maybe Bush will use this case to tell the voters that Saddam is dead and that the Americans are safe. But actually the American people will be in more danger with the death of Saddam."

What do you think?

It won't make much difference. It is already about as bad a situation over there as possible.

That is a non question

It's tantamount to asking if 12 oz beverages taste the same as 16 oz beverages.

Statically Peace has never occurred in the Mideast therefore the odds of there ever being peace are nil.

I don't think he will be put to death too quickly, since we really don't know the climate in Iraq (the real climate) in any event I think it would be a mistake to put him to death, that should be left up to the governing body in Iraq now don't you? after all his crimes were not against the U.S.but his own people in Iraq. Who knows what kind of kooks are out there just waiting for an excuse to do more to Americans,we don't have enough troops there to protect each other now, think what will happen if others join the fight against us. so I agree More danger will be eminent with Saddam's.s death.

I suppose a few Islamists will rebel in the streets, make all kinds of threats towards America and Israel, some people will be blown up because of their attempt to retaliate, but it will change nothing. Saddam will die, and that's a good thing!

Ask the thousands of Iraqi's whom were killed under his dictatorship and see if they agree,we are not trying him,his people are and if they find him innocent well so be it.The Muslims might be uprising because we meddled in their affairs but they couldn't control the issues in there own house so why should we have experienced the 9/11 because they could control the people in there mosques, the money trail led us there and we did what they coulndn't or wouldn't do

The death of Saddam will bring some violence from the Sunni's (or whatever they are called) but EVERYTHING brings violence from these ppl...so it wont be any different than now. Thats why we need to just start cracking down on them.......but were held back by the ppl who would rather be attacked than do the attacking (Dems/Libs).

Killing Saddam would be a serious mistake, better to sentence him to a secluded prison cell.

There is a fear that if he is executed, violence in Iraq will rise dramitically, and US troops will be caught in the middle.

Wouldn't make a difference. They're waging war on terrorism and Islam. Sadam wasn't both of those.
