Honestly I dont think much would change. Both parties talk big but they are exactly the same. Despite what the Republican party claims, they have no idea how to win and end this war in Iraq, just like the Democrats dont. No matter what candidate wins, its still the same corrupt money that got them there.
The only difference I could honestly say would happen would be the Democrats will repeal Bushs tax cuts and if you are honest with yourself and really support your country you will know this has to be done to pay for this war.

If the Democrats got both houses of Congress, we could make some kind of start toward undoing some of Bush & the Republican's damage.

But they've screwed things up so badly it'll take years.

If the Democrats have both houses of Congress AND the White House after 2008, we could possibly effect some progress in addition to just undoing Bush's atrocities.

I don't know what ANYBODY will be able to do about Bush's astonishing deficits.

One big important difference; we would not be in Iraq right now. But that's going back in time assuming that Bush never got elected, and his cabinet never had the chance to revive the neo-con agenda. Life world-wide would be very different right now had a democrat, or even a different Republican been elected in 2000. It's truly a shame what has transpired over the past 6 years. We can't go back, all we can do is try to pick up the pieces and move on. Apologize to the rest of humanity on behalf of our retarded hick of a leader. It's a bit like being a parent of an unruly child. He makes a mess of his room and YOU end up having to clean it up. Oh well. c'est la vie.

honestly i think it would in some aspects, Just to give a few instances, we democrats would be successfully "cutting and running" in Iraq by now, the federal spending deficit would have been smaller by now because there would have never been tax cuts on the rich, the No Child Left Behind act, an unfounded mandate that forces schools to meet "standards" that does not account for the mentally handicapped or schools already financially burdened, wouldn't have been passed, and the infringement of our rights to stop the neverending "terrorist threat" (remember that they hate our freedom) by the use of the so called "patriot act" would not have been reinstated.

We would not be in the same situation. Right wing and left wing are poles apart. What we all need is more moderation, more integrity, and better planning. Hopefully, after suffering under Bush, this can be done democratically.

i think that there would definitely be change, but not in a big dramatic format that some people say they would like. for one thing, it's not reasonable--if democrats do take the seats up for grabs, even if we take the presidency, it will be a close, close call and it would not be fair or feasible to just up and go the opposite direction. i am all for the changes that would, eventually, take place!!!

Unless our political leaders, both Republican and Democrat, stop being puppets of big business nothing major will change.
