I have done it because I think several are good answers but don't want to choose one over the other so to be fair, I hope people will vote honestly on it when they come to it!

I have only put one of my questions to vote. I knew one of the 2 answers I received was a good answer. The other answer seemed really far out, and I wasn't sure,so I asked others to help. The question remained unanswered for about three weeks. My question didn't even get a good response from the voters. Really, I am not sure, if there was a best answer ever chosen.

Indecision in my case. Usually I pick the best answer, but in one of my questions, there were a lot of answers that were very good, so I put that question in voting (the only one) :)

I have sent mine to voting when there is no right or wrong answer. I don't feel it is fair for me to judge with my sole opinion on others opinions. I think it is more fair to put to a vote is all. if you check some of my questions that had been voted on you will see.

You get a reminder if you have questions out there and your time is ending. I always choose my own answers or I wouldn't have asked the question. I was in the hospital and one of mine went into voting because I didn't do anything.
You get 3 points when you choose your own answer. I don't like someone else choosing my answer.

I think it is because people forget about the questions or don't know enough about the system and how it works.
But I don't want to send any of my own questions to voting because I like making the decision on the BA for my question myself. Many Q's goes without a BA and are stuck in Y!A limbo until they are voted on by the community - us!.

I've done it when I was not sure about the answer and hoped by putting it to a vote that those who knew best , technically , it might tell me more . But realizing you still have to check for yourself in the long run -it's just another opinion sometimes . Other times , I just plain forgot about it .

I've done it because I did not really consider any of the answers to be worthy of being the best answer, but, since people did take the time to respond, felt that one should be allowed to have the ten points. So, I left it up to others to decide.

I always choose a best answer for mine... at least I try to because when I let the community vote, they usually just look at the first few answers... and that is very unfair! :-)

i don't know, but i'm glad people do. i've found that i tend to have a far higher proportion of my answers chosen as best by voters than by the question asker.
i suppose i would guess that it's just lazyness.. they don't want to bother choosing the best one.
