You can't ever get your laptop to run unless you are a robotics engineer and can figure out the power ratio and balance factors to get it to run. Going faster is a matter of what you actually want it to do faster, programs opening faster, bootup time, internet, file transfers, overall computing, etc. Sure you can delete stuff but then you have to remember to also empty the recycle bin as well, you could organize things better but that would just mean you can find it better, not necessarily that the computer will. uninstall programs you don't use, defrag, run disk cleanup, install more ram, clear out temp files and history, clean out the cache, delete all but the most recent restore point, delete programs from autostarting that you don't need to autostart, all kinds of things you could do to make it "go faster"

Besides increasing the memory or storage, the best thing you can do to increase the speed is:

Increase the size of you available storage by going to the "Control Panel" and activating "Add Remove Programs" and removing all programs and games that you dont use as much or anymore!

Download or buy: a good disk defragmenter program and run it regularly!

:a register cleaner program!

Some programs will check and clean all the places on your HD that is used to store information that's temporary and takes up necessary space.

That should be run regularly!

Also check to see if the program scans for adware or cookies if you use the Internet at all and run that regularly and often, if your downloading programs from the Internet!

Keep in mind that there will always be times when you will have to wait!

Some programs load slower!

Often your connection speed will be slower than you think it should be and there is no more you can do than what you can do to change the weather!

If you've installed a scanner like Norton Internet Scanner or others, you are going to experience some slowness anyway!

Remember the best you can do is clean, clean, clean and often!

Defrag
Partition data from program programs (complex wait until your computer needs to be reformatted and you'll need to ask seek help. I have a 120 GB and do a 60 gb for programs and 60 GB for data. When I format C I get a new factory fresh system and on my D drive is all my data, mp3's pictures, documents, encripted files, etc. Only if the drive goes bad I don't have to reinstall the data.
Remove programs that you don't use by add/remove or installer. Don't rip things out with explorer.
Get more memory

give it legs and some caffeine!! No really, adding more memory, deleting junk you do not need, a general clean up/defrag can usually have it running faster.
