honda preludes are front wheel drive cars, so no they can not drift unless youre going in reverse, and then its not going to be too easy. but the entire sport of drifting has only erar wheel drive cars, or in some cases all wheel drive cars with more power going to the back wheels instead of the majority going to the front. the only car that honda made in the past 10 years that could drift would be an nsx, and good luck on getting one of those...on second thought you could get your prelude to drift if there is lots of snow on the ground, or in really rainy situations just by yanking your e-brake to go sideways and then youre going to come to a stop.
so...preludes cant drift, rwd & some awd cars/trucks can drift.
Try Honda Civic Si. It drifts like anything Man........

I have drifted a 1989 Toyota Camry on dry pavement going 60 mph with no e-brake cheating.The entrance into the drift was smooth like an airplane that lifts off the runway at the proper speed.The car exited the drift by controlling the gas and when it was over it was like landing on both feet after a ski jump.The Camry at that time was much smaller and far superior to the wallowing barge it has become now.There were deep ditches on the side of the road that I drifted so a spinout would have been a rollover.The car was not modified it was a rental car.I worked at a rental car company and my job was to deliver rental cars around town.There was another guy in the car with me who was a big talker and he never came near me again.We would use the cigarette lighter to brand the plastic dashboard,he had a minivan catch fire and was destroyed,he claimed it was electrical-oh the good ole days.

These people are all wrong. Any car can drift (the definition of drift meaning the rear or all four tires sliding while cornering). And the crappier tires and suspension you have, the easier it is. Just throw it into a corner and pull the e brake.

The hard part is drifting in a controlled and sustained manner which is easier done with a rear wheel drive so you can use the throttle to control the direction and amount of drift while counter steering.

But FWD cars are great for controlled drift in reverse.

FWD can not drift no matter what. They can fishtail on wet pavement but that's as close as you'll get to "drifting".

I own 2 preludes right now, both 3rd gens (90-91). One has 4ws and neither one can or ever drift.

Get yourself an s2000 or an ae86 if you wanna drift.

The NSX is not the only car that honda made RWD, the S2000 is also RWD.

yes definitley, it is the muscle car of japan, it definitley has the capability of doing so, my fiance' actually has a prelude, with the right tires and performance parts, you'll be drifting in no time. Havent you ever seen fast and the furious movies! you may not be able to drift a stock prelude, but if you modify it you can drift

NO, only the rear traccion can drift therefore, they use old car or modify cars.

no it is front wheel drive so it will not technically drift. you can e-brake slide it though.
