From the perspective of those who are neither Americans nor Iraqis, it's not easy to say whether Saddam Hussein or George Bush is the greater criminal. Why should one hang, but not the other? Other than who commands the preponderance of military power, I can't think of a single reason.

As a matter of historical fact, hanging when applied to soldiers, heads of state etc. is considered as a "cruel" way to execute them, it is normally for vulgar criminals, a firing squad is usually the "preferred treatment" unless they want to humiliate the person as in this case. Also keep in mind it is a horrible way to die (suffocation or broken neck), very painful. Considering we try to not be "animals" like he was, he probably gets what he deserves. Now, on a personal note: why not tie him in the pilot seat of a 727, glue his eyes open and crash the plane? Oops... that would be the one for Bin Laden. Sorry!

Not me. The whole idea in Iraq (other than dealing with the WMD issue) was to restore the rule of law. Iraqi law provides for hanging.

have you ever thought that it is a real probability that our government has exacerbated the situation with the Iraq/Saddam issue in order to justify our presence in the region? what if the table was turned and some middle east country did not approve the way our government handles the middle/lower class here in the U.S. and took control with there military, then sentenced Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield and so on to hang?

i say dont kill him, just let him rot in prison. let him just sit there for the rest of his life with absolutely nothing to do. Such isolation can make a person so insane they want to kill themselves.

i think he should be put in a prison cell in somewhere like china. 4X3 cell and never allowed out and fed rotten rice for the rest of his miserable life, till he rots. maybe we can even get a woman to hand him his koran...oh never mind that one. he should be given a bible and maybe a pot to piss in.........thats it.

No offense, hon, but what we think doesn't matter.
He was found guilty under Iraqi Law, in an Iraqi court, and their law trumps what we feel.
