The trial was in an Iraqi court of law, presided over by an Iraqi judge. It does not correlate to US election cycles, though some people have raised an eyebrow about the whole situation. The other thing, however, we need to keep in mind is that Oct was one of the worst months for US military deaths, and Nov is starting off terribly too. So anything that happens before an election is obviously going to be subject to more scrutiny, but not everything that happens before an election happens simply because an election draws near

The trial for Saddam Husein was in Iraq. Just because something happens before an election (especially in another country) does not necessarily mean it has anything to do with the election.

Absolutely not a coincidence. Hence the reason the Puppet government in Iraq will never survive. The sheep the likes of Snow, Bush and Rove want to convince of this will tell you YES, but the rest of us know differently. Shame on this discredited administration.

Yes. The Iraqi tribunal hearing the case could have presented a verdict at any time; they did so when they had settled on what it should be.

I doubt it,if civil unrest starts there do you think it will be good publicity at least for my side(republican)I think the Democrats will scream bloody murder no matter what,but thats only my opinion
