The Congress Of The United States Drafted The Document And Declared Their Independance From England. Thomas Jefferson Wrote The Declaration And It Was Backed From The Very Beging By John Adams And Ben Fraklin And A Majority Of The North But The South Had To Be Persuaded To Sign The Document. It Was The First Step Toward America Being Free From Englands Control And The First Step Towards A Revolutionary War.

Ya know when you move out of an apartment, you give the landlord notice that you are going? Same thing. The British Colonies in North America were leaving the British Empire, so being conscientious people, they sent their landlord a Notice.

one thing it did was list grievances to the king of england. the list is very long and tells why the colonies were taking action against the king of england. the reason they were solely against the king, was so they wouldn'y piss the entire country of england off.
