It's doing my head in. Do these people not understand that it's random? How can you have tactics? Just pick a number and get on with it for ****'s sake.

I blame Noel and his "cosmic ordering" or whatever it's called.

We can all write numbers on our hands in biro Noel - doesn't make you any more or less likely to win something.

Because the show hightens to emotions to such a degree.. I read an article (in think last sunday's Daily Telegraph magazine) that likened Deal or No Deal to a cult.

If you think about it.. all these people are seperated from their families and stay in a hotel together for the duration of their time on the show.. it gets them paranoid (about the banker, so much so that they think that whatever they do off the show can be reported to him thus ruining their chances of getting a good result) and they also get increasingly mystic (many of them including Noel Edmonds believe in psychic abilitites).

It all seems rather stressful.. the impact of bad games having a lasting effect on the rest of the players (they have to have a motivational speaker.. a guy who goes everywhere with them cheering them up and getting them to shout enthusiastically)

On one hand it does seem very silly.. but when you look at things with the isolationist, claustrophobic view of the contestants hotel with a mystic Noel Edmonds at the head, it all seems surprisingly stressful!

I'M GETTING A REALLY STRONG FEELING FROM THIS BOX. Or my favourite: IT'S THE LAW OF AVERAGES - always announced by someone who doesn't have a 5 year old's understanding of basic probability. These are the same people who are convinced black is more likely on a roulette wheel when it's spun red 3 times in a row.

If they didn't have magical thinking idiots like this on the show it'd be over in 3 minutes is the real reason.

Because it is such a boring game show and the only way they can make it interesting is to be soooo dramatic about it... such a pity don't you think?

Ha, don't you just love it when they only win £1, smug b*st*rds. Anybody with any kind of life couldn't go on the show on the first place, the same as big brother. what a load of pointless, drawn-out twaddle. The only person on it who's any good is the banker!

Makes for better TV. So we can sit at home and make fun of the people who are making fools of themselves in front of the world.
