They're cowards just like their father. Remember his outstanding war record during the Viet Nam conflict? All those medals he won in the Air National Guard for going AWOL? When you're born to the elite rich, you don't have to go into the military to make your mark in society. So his two daughters stay home while people like your relatives go make the sacrifice - let's hope they all come home safely.

Not everyone is enlisted. I'm 26 years old. I have 10+ cousins that are 18-30, and none of them are enlisted. You want everyone 18-35 to be over there? Vote for the draft, and then screw the country big time when we all die fighting for our country. England lost 1/4 of a generation in WWI because of this, and France lost much more than that in WWII. The reason that we don't have the draft anymore is because of the 65,000+ deaths that America suffered in Vietnam. Right now, American lives lost in Iraq is at 2,000+. Want to add another 63,000 to that? Are you nuts??

Because it is a volunteer military and they did not volunteer. Are you now, or ever been, overseas to fight for our country? I'm sure a lot of the Bush daughter's friends are overseas fighting for our country as well. Keep in mind that people serve their country in many different ways. There are four instruments of power and the military is only one of them. President Clinton never served in the military, but his diplomatic contribution was influential. Don't be too critical about the ways people contribute to the success of our country. I'm sure you have done your part in some way, too.

If you have not heard it yet, then it is time for you to hear that we have an all volunteer Army. To volunteer means you choose to go or not to go. Your 10 relatives have volunteered, and we are grateful for all the Service man that did. That was their choice, so now would you like to force others to join ?

We have an all-volunteer army and not a draft. In other words, your relatives made the decision to join the military service as many others, among them our president's children, decided not to join. Freedom of choice, what a concept. God bless the USA !

We no longer have a draft. Military service is voluntary, even in wartime. And, just because your parent is in office, does not mean that you must share his/her political views. Personally, I don't believe in women fighting, although I wanted to join and be a secretary for the military in the early 80s.

I think the question should be taken up with the Congress or any other political or judicial institution. Amazed that this issue has not been raised by the media. A political taboo, may be.
