It is more than 20 times the estimate of 30,000 civilian deaths that President Bush gave in a speech in December. It is more than 10 times the estimate of roughly 50,000 civilian deaths made by the British-based Iraq Body Count research group.

That's great news! Hope we reach a million before too long. There is NO enforceable international law against going to war. The U.N. is the most corrupt, powerless organization the world has ever seen. I notice people concerned with the genocide in Darfur are calling on Bush to convince the U.N. to do something. The U.N. HAS never and WILL never stop anybody from dong anything. If people stand up and say they WILL kill you, it's your responsibility to do something about it. The U.N. never will. War is war and you win when the OTHER side says you do. Bush should take the reins off and let our military WIN this war.

Two things wrong with this statement.
First, there is no war on Iraq. The US Congress never declared war, so there as a legal matter there is no war.
There is a military conflict in Iraq, pursuant to a legal Authorization for the Use of Miltiary Force, in accord with the War Powers Act. Why Congress voted to send troops to Iraq is irrelevant. They did, and have reaffirmed this approval with each appropriations bill. Even if false information might have been part of the initial inducement, their continued support ratifies that decision.
So, the presence of US troops in Iraq is completely legal. It just does not have the legal status of a war.
Bush has done many illegal things during his term of office. This isn't one of them.

I am sure that many of those sites were created by people who dislike Bush, so they aren't necessarily proof, they are opinion. Bush should not be executed or even tried. He has been placed in tough situations throughout his presidency, and I respect him for not giving up. How many other people could handle situations like the one he is in? He has so much stress and responsibility on his shoulders because he is in charge of our whole country, so please consider the situation in which he has been placed. Nobody would be able to please everyone.

People get strange ideas when they grieve. They have to find someone to blame....You forget we the are target. I would rather fight there than here. If we get democratic office in 08, I predict within 6 months we will be attacked, Wait and see. Hiding head in the sand is not going to stop these guys. It goes way beyond 911.
