I have heard as little as once a day and as often as three times a day. I have been told only two flakes total and as much as two flakes each time.

You certainly get by with one feeding per day. Do two if you want. When you feed, any food left after five minutes is how much you over fed. Cut down your next feeding by that amount.

Betta's *can* be pigs so you have to make sure not to feed them *too* much but I have 6 bettas right now and I feed all of them two times a day, in the morning after I wake up and at night when I get home from classes.
My First male gets two pinches of flakes each meal.
My Second male gets a pinch and a half and 2 pellets
My Third male gets the same as my second male
And so Does my Fourth Male.
My two females also eat a pinch of flakes and at least one pellet.

two times a day, one pinch of flakes/pellets in the morning and the afternoon, and when they get older(when they get bigger) you can start feeding em' bigger pinches,or just feed em' 3 times a day,but this si how you can tell if your over feeding, your beta has a little belly and if it's belly is bulging, then you know you fed it too much, and keep your beta real healthy i had mine for 4 yrs. already and the pet owner said they only can live up to 2 yrs. but my fish looks real old and it has 2 little long whiskers,it looks like a wise one.

I feed mine once a day. Give no more than he will eat in 2-3 min. I use Beta bits not flakes.

When I had bettas I only fed them 1 time a day and a tiny bit of food, smaller then a pinch. I fed mine freeze dried blood worms, it must have been about 5-10 worms each feeding.

A pinch of food is sufficient for a Betta, I've fed them twice a day with no problems.
