Basically my wireless adaptor plug snapped out of the socket and broke the inside of it, so now my laptop has gone completely dead and won't turn on at all. I tried it with & without the power supply, took the battery out and put it back in, and still isn't working. Anyone have any ideas has to what could have happened to stop the whole thing working? It is very annoying as I'm still paying for it and only had it a year. Any advice would be appreciated.

Take it to your local high street computer shop, that is if they do repairs.. they will charge you a small fee for diagnosing the problem but this will usually be refunded if you let them do the repairs, once you know what's wrong and how much it will cost to put right you will be in a much better position to work out whether you'll be better off scrapping it and getting a new one or having your old one repaired

I think you are stuck with repair charge. I had this happen with my Gateway, less than a year old, CD Rom went out. They sent me another and that went out at 13 months old. I do have an extended warranty with Best Buy, for your future reference. So they will pay for this unless determined I did the damage. Which I didn't. Good luck.

sounds like you have broken the board in the laptop so if you do not have a warranty on the computer witch I do not think it will cover that anyway I do not think I would say that you will have to get it fixed at a computer repair shop or do it yourself if you know how to do it sorry.
