Lots of professions! I visited a National Weather Service office this past summer and learned a lot.

Everyday the NWS forecasters write forecasts specifically for the airports in their region. When preparing an airplane for a commercial flight, it is best to give it just enough fuel for it to get to its destination because the less fuel the plane is carrying, the lighter and more efficient it flies, but if rain is forecast for its destination, the plane has to have enough fuel to fly to an alternate airport where good weather is forecast. Weather can literally cost airlines thousands.

Farmers and ranchers also rely on weather forecasts. While I was at the NWS station, a rancher called up asking what the chance of rain was because he wanted to harvest his hay, but if it was going to rain, all that hay would be ruined in the harvest and it would be better to just leave it in the ground.

Fishermen rely on tidal forecasts so they know when it is safest to leave port and what time they need to get back into harbor. If they try to get back during low tide, they may very well not be able to.

Too many to list! Aviation, shipping, agriculture, transportation - just about any profession which has to be outside. Heck, I work in IT, and I rely on an accurate weather forecast to know whether to take my umbrella to work with me :)
