Hi there! You don't say if your son is crawling yet or not. Mine was at that age, but my son did everything early. He walked at 10 months. At 8 months my son's favourite toy/activity was his Exersaucer. He would have lived in there, if I had let him. It's a great toy! It developed so many different skills. It strengthens their legs, too. My son started using it at about 4 months and used it until about a month after he started walking. (Then he didn't want to sit still...LOL) There are many activities/toys attached. Lots for baby to explore. There are a few different models to choose from.

Another option that is very interactive for your child, especially if he is crawling, is Fisher Price's Baby Gymatastics Play Wall. Can be used sitting, too until he learns to crawl.

I have included links so you can check out both items. Good luck to you and your son. I hope you find some great toys for him.

Fisher-price has some great new activity centers available, and the baby Einstein series is pretty good. But the best way to start enriching your child's mind is to interact with them as much as possible, after all, a parent is a childs first teacher.

Anything that requires hand-eye coordination. Brightly colored blocks for instance. That helps with spatial sense too. Remember those old round things where you pulled the string and it would say "the cow goes moo!"? Don't know if they still make that anymore. But above all, read! Read to them a lot. They may not understand it all, but it's part of their audio senses.

my dear the worlds best gadgets will not do near as good a job as hearing MOM and dad talk to him/her. That is how they learn - not by some talking bright toy!

have a look on www.ELC.co.uk the early learning centre website. you can search for toys in age groups so you should be sure to find something suitable. they have good descriptions and pictures too.
