Ok let me go right to the point - it does NOT mean PRO-abortion.

As a woman, I can say that I would not have an abortion due to moral conflicts but I am pro-choice. This means that while I personally have issues with it, I give other women the right to choose whether or not they accept it or not.

I give them the right because I am NOT God and have no right to dictate to them what happens to their bodies.

It means that when a determination gets made whether a person may have certain medical procedures (most often abortion, but it applies to others), the choice is made by the individual whether to have the procedure or not, instead of being forced by the government.

Face it -- for any given medical procedure (or anything else) someone is going to make the choice. It's either going to be the individual, or it's going to be the majority (through enacted laws).

The debate is not about whether we agree with the individual choices being made. It's whether you think the government should have the right to take away and mandate those choices.

Why can't people understand that freedom of choice is not a minority value, even if the majority happens to disagree with the minority's choice?

Pro choice is the idea that a woman is allowed to make decisions about her body that a bunch of gray haired men shouldn't be allowed to interfere with.

Contrary to popular belief, pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. Pro-choice is a movement that does want to keep abortion legal because most in this movement believe that the decision to have an abortion should be between a woman and her doctor, not a woman and the state or anyone else. The pro-choice movement does not advocate abortion, but rather advocates giving a woman control over her own body and not making her inferior to a being that is essentially a parasite (my own terminology) in her body.

Someone who is pro-choice believes it is the woman's right whether to abort a pregnancy or not.

It means that while you may not agree with abortion or it goes against your religious beliefs you are smart enough to understand that not everyone feels the same way and you feel that people can make their own choice on the matter.

The issue is not 'pro-choice'. The opposite of 'pro-life' is 'pro-death'. The choice is made when you decide to go to bed with someone. If you come down with AIDS, do you get to 'choose' whether to have it or not? No, you don't. It's the same with pregnancy, the choice is made when you have sex, not later.

It means that abortion is an option open to you, as it gives you a choice as to what you wish to do

Pro Choice means you have the legal right to make decisions regarding your body. The fact that abortion activists make it all about abortion is ridiculous. It is about the government not having, by law, the ability to dictate what you do for your body. The reason they use abortion is because it is an emotional issue, but the last thing the government wants to do is completely eradicate abortion, they'll never do it....they can't. Anyhow, email me if you want me rant on and on. lol. good luck.

It means that the decision should be left up to the people involved and not decided by those that think it is wrong.

This is to chainsaw: It should not be the governments place to legislate morality that is an individual choice.
