I had the implanon for 3 years and couldn't wait to have it removed. I have read so much information since on how badly it has affected people esp in Australia where they've had it for years now. I completely lost my sex drive and put on weight even though I was fine on the Mirena IUS, the mini pill, the Depo Provera and the Combined Pill. I would recommend the Mirena as once it's fitted you can forget it and I had no side effects.

Hi, dont worry you are not abnormal, I didnt have the rod I had the injection which is the same hormones and I turned into the wicked witch of the west, the good thing with the implant is you can have it removed I was stuck with the effects of the injection for 3 months

I have never had one, but I have friends that have. If it is causing that many problems, you need to see your doctor and have it removed. And find another form of BC. Its NOT supposed to have those affects!!
