There are three factors which can determine if a woman's pregnancy will produce stretch marks/wrinkles in the abdominal region.
1. Genetics: We contain elasticity within our skin. When the skin is stretched, it's natural composition allows it to snap back into place. When the skin is stretched at an increasing rate within a shorter period of time, the end results will be stretch marks. Have you ever seen muscle bound men or body builders with stretch marks around the shouders? This is due to a fast increase of size and is usually caused by the use of muscle enhancing drugs or hormones. The similar results apply with pregnancy, when the stomach becomes larger at a faster rate than the skin is capable of snapping back.
2. Abdominal muscles: Having strong abdominal muscles will decrease the chance of stretch marks. The ab muscles will assist with keeping the the stomach from protruding too far. Instead of using the more of the skin to support the protruding stomach, the support will lie more on the ab muscles and help keep the baby more compact and tight. ALong with strengthening these muscles, a good exercise program is recommended to keep the body and skin toned during pregnancy.
3. Water: Drinking plenty of water maintains the skin's elasticity. More moister within the skin will allow it to snap back to it's original position.
Though, there is no guarantee a pregnant woman will avoid stretch marks after pregnancy, these steps can help minimize the end results.

Skin is elastic which means it will return to it's original shape once it hasn't been stretched past the point of no return. If the muscle underneath the skin is the same shape and size then exercises like stomach crunches will tighten everything right up. There are a range of exercises for each zone of your stomach i.e. lower, mid, upper and sides. If the muscle is tight but the skin is still loose then I think surgery may be your only option to get things back to where they once were!

Not exactly. But it may be flabby for a while.
Don't worry about it at first. Just enjoy your baby and get your strength back. In the beginning you will be so sleep deprived you won't care what your tummy looks like.
Try Palates and or Yoga to tone back up. Both really focus on strengthening the core muscles (abdominals) and are wonderful after giving birth. Don't forget to do your Keigals!

It all depends on the elasticity of your skin. Your stomach will look like that for the first several weeks after birth because your uterus is still getting back to normal size. You can do crunchs with baby on your tummy and stuff but if it is all extra skin, she might have to get Plastic surgery or a tummy tuck

Well, I looked like I was mauled by a wild animal I had so many stretch marks. My stomach just now has some tone to it. (that's almost 2 years later) I haven't really tried to tone it though. Just walking and swimming.

my best advice is to use a cocoa butter or firming lotion during the pregnancy, even if you aren't seeing the dreaded stretch marks yet. I did that and in about 4 months my stomach was back to normal!

my stomach didnt have wrinkles or stretch marks, but the skin was loose after giving birth.
As long as you breastfeed and when u feel ready to it, excercise, your stomach will be back to normal in no time.
