While it is likely the people from his home town will be the most displeased, it is reasonable to expect a time of "celebration" by most Iraqi's who will see this as finally closing the chapter on this dark period in their history and a time of hope leading into the future.

As for Liberals, they'll move on to something else to say it will never happen (like they said about this and umteen million other things about the Iraqi liberation that have happened, like the free elections, etc).

You don't seriously think that all Iraqis are celebrating do you? There will be factions on every topic. One could make a case that if Iraq had been able to invade the US with Saddam Hussein in power, George Bush could have been sentenced to death for war crimes against Iraqis. Some Americans would have celebrated such a decision, and some Iraqis would have been sad over it.

It all depends on perspective.

There are different opinions on the death penalty. I do not believe in what Saddam did, but I do not believe in killing for it because he is still a human being. That said, I don't believe in war either. I don't believe that we ever have justification to kill one another, no matter how terrible someone is to others that does not give the state license to take away that person's life.

Two huge overgeneralizations.

Many Iraqis are celebrating. Many have taken to the streets in armed protest.

Many here are celebrating. Some are wondering. Some are sad whenever any person is killed, no matter how evil they are.

Don't you think it's valid that different people may have different emotional reactions based on their personal beliefs?

Who is sad over it? Maybe his mother. By the way, can you define the word liberal for me because I am not really sure you know what it means?
