I think death is a bit extreme and I can see him becoming a martyr.
Although from what I've seen on the news, the Shias and Kurds are dancing in the street with delight over the news
And the judge who sentenced him was Iraqi. Its not like he was tried in the US.
In all honesty I think we should just the let Iraqis decide what to do with him

I believe the punishment should be lethal injection or be gased. It's the death penalty, but quick and semi-painless. But that may cause rebellion over ze seas. And that wouldn't help anything. He won't be hanged though, it's not 1506, but 2006.
Edit:
Oh, I just looked on BBC. He is supposedly going to be hanged. WHo knows with reporters though. I say feed him lima beans!

The Tribunal has found Sadddam guilty, and has handed out the sentence, death by hanging. In my opinion a rather primitive sentence. Why would anyone lower themselves to that primitive level and want to watch the cruel spectlcle. I do not undersand!

He should be tortured weekly and made to suffer..altho this makes us as bad as him so i kno really we shouldn't do that..but stuff it he ruined the lives of so many - he deserves it - but don't keep him alive for too long as it uses money that could be put to better things. Hanging him is a much too easy way out for him.

Grace(not Law) unto you, and peace(not division),
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The whole issue of sacrifice(slaughter) is martyr-DUMB,
like mixing Life(Grace) + Death(Law) is an oxy-MORON.
Hell-o, is anybody there, or am I speaking into a vacuum?
Life(Mercy) + Death(Sacrifice) does NOT end with Life.
The will of God is: "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice".
The "allegory" for such is I will have grace, and not law.
And the "not" part is not then, not now, not ever.
(Ps 40:6; 51:16; Hos 6:6; Mt 9:13; 12:7; Heb 10)
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.

He should be left to rot in prison for the rest of his life - hanging is too quick a punishment for him.

His punishment should fit his crime. Make a list of everything he had done to his own people . . . and have that done to him. Hanging is too good for him considering his own atrocities.

He should be tried in an international court, and a full investigation should be launched to find out which countrys leaders supported his tyranny as his time as President, of couse this will never happen as.......as America never want it to be know how they supported his wars and violence in the past...

They just need to get him off the planet, either hang him or ship him to the planet formerly known as Pluto.
