Cut the portions girl. I know it's hard, I know it feels impossible, but get it in your head that you HAVE to get a little healthier for the sake of your baby - and put the last half of your meal in the fridge for lunch tomorrow.
It is the only way! You can eat whatever you want - just make a conscious decision to eat LESS of it. Veggies are okay - eat as many veggies as you want - drown them in garlic and spray butter. Use no-salt and season salt and you won't believe how the weight will melt off of you.
Last thing, keep a positive attitude and supportive people around you. Don't let people tell you what to do - ask them to support you in what you are DOING!

You dont necessarily have to crash diet. Just eat raw healthy foods. Not alot of carbs. Portion control is the key, eat 6 small meals a day. Lots of fruit and Vegetables, and make sure you exercise, or walk every day. You should be able to keep the weight down that way.
Dont feel so bad I gained 65lbs with my baby and still have not lost it. I started having contractions at 5 months during my walks so I was told that I wasnt allowed to exercise. I gained 10lbs a month for the next 4 months. I was doing great before that, I had only gained 10 lbs the first 5 months.
I am still trying to get this weight off. It is hard.
Best wishes and good luck!

You do not diet to lose weight during pregnancy. You can watch what you eat so you do not gain weight or excessive weight. During a normal pregnancy you should gain about twenty pounds, half of which is water weight. The baby and placenta etc comprise the rest. You are not eating for two full grown adults you are eating to keep yourself healthy and feed a growing baby who at this point is about the size of a ping pong ball. Look at your calories, make sure you are getting the nutrients you and your child need. Make sure this is coming from healthy, wholesome food, not junk.

Choose healthier foods, like steamed veggies, grilled chicken, grilled or seamed fish. You can eat raw veggies as often as you want to snack on throughout the day or in between meals. Anything grilled is much better for you than fried foods. Limit your sweets intake and also stay away from fast food. Whole grain breads are healthier than white breads. Also, walking at a steady pace for about an hour a day will help put you in shape. Your main focus should be on keeping the baby healthy first. Be sure to take your prenatal vitamins and iron pills if the doctor gave them to you. You can focus on your weightloss even more after you have the baby.

I had a hard time with my weight during my first pregnancy too. During my first pregnancy I gained almost 60 lbs, so I was really worried about weight gain during my current pregnancy. I'm doing good so far, but my OB/GYN has already told me that if I start gaining too much weight that he'll refer me to a dietician.
A diet during pregnancy is not a good idea, but you can manage your diet. Ask your doctor to refer you to a dietician, so that you can plan healthier meals for you and your baby, to help manage your weight. Best of luck to you. And congratulations!

My friend had this problem and she gained 75 lbs with her first pregnancy and similar on the second. her problem though, and I'm not directing this at you at all, was that when she was hungry, she thought she HAD to eat hamburgers and junk food as that is what she craved. So, instead of MAKING herself eat something healthy like a salad or fruit or a sandwich, she would eat the worst possible food and blame it on the pregnancy. So, what I suggest is to look at what you're eating, see if it's healthy. If it is, then try making yourself walk one mile each day and commit to it. Don't drink AS MUCH water as women retain water so much during pregnancy. I hope this helps. I gained 17 lbs during my first and this is what I did.

Just eat right and excercise. You know what foods are healthy and what is bad for you. Eat Healthy foods and excercise, if you are not used to excercising, start out slow. The whole "eating for 2" is a big myth!

For now just eat right! But the best way for you to lose weight after the baby is breastfeeding, so many people dont understand the benefits of it...not just for your baby but for you as well.

What I would do is reduce yourself from eating any junk food and follow the food pyramid. I would just watch your portions. I know being pregnant makes you hungry, just eat until your comfortable not until your really full. This is wait a friend of mine did. Good luck.
