All those credits I earned in the Navy are "accreddited" through American Counsel on Education. Which is not recoginized by the Department of Education. Errr!!! Thanks for the link.

They are expensive! They have to still hired professors- someone has to write the class- correct papers sent in, mediate online discussions. I take online class through a community college and they are cheap- Try going to a regular university and look into their online class scuedule. Most offer lots of classes. A friend of mine just graduated from a 4 year state university taking only online courses.

That is a great question, and one I have wondered myself. I don't know the answer. But, it seems unfair. You are not using any facilities in the brick and mortar sense. There is no wear and tear on the student center, or classrooms. They don't have to feed you; so, yeah, why is it so expensive. My guess is it is extra work for the professors and they are getting a big fee for it.

Greed...not much more can be said...education shouldn't and does not in fact cost an arm and a leg...yet thousands of institutions charge exactly that...the amount it would cost to have an appendage replaced....I would suggest a local community college or county funded trade/tech school if one even exists in your area...good luck...

The good ones are hosted out of universities with campuses. The rest aren't worth your time and money, but need lots of funding to hire lawyers to help them claim they aren't degree mills.
