NOw it just makes my computer slower, can I somehow get my old internet explorer back?

I doubt the problem is IE. There are a lot of factors to consider. I just downloaded IE 7 myself. I used to have AOL and weatherbug on my system. I removed those completely and I run about 20 times better now (no joke). Go to www.filehippo.com and download CCleaner and uninstall unnecessary programs/files then run that and it will find and remove the remnants things leave behind. I also found something I have is conflicting with my firewall program (ZoneAlarm) and I had to remove that or my system ran very slow and locked up a lot. If you really want to go back to IE 6 I'm sure you can find it somewhere.

Do a system restore to before the date you downloaded the newer version of explorer

hit on >start>control panel>add remove >check mark on da top of >add remove >show up dates<<
then look for (IE7 ) hit on that then hit remove . (IE7) will uninstall and your system will re-run (IE6) no need to download (IE6) again

you can uninstall it, or use the previous configuration feature to return the pc to a previous day.
