Día de los Muertos 'day of the dead' is a mixture of spanish-catholic and aztec beliefs. It is celebrated on the the 1st and 2nd of November. It is a latin holiday celebrated in mexico and other latin american countries. Day of the Dead is a holiday to celebrate the memories of those who have died. Legend has it that the spirits of the dead come back to earth during this time (the is the aztec belief) The aztecs had a similiar holiday during the first of november, and the catholic church celebrated all saints day on November 1st. November 1st celebrated those who died as children and November 2nd is for those who died as adults. During this time, people go to the graves where their loved ones are buried and clean up the graves and put fresh flowers and candles. They also erect an 'ofrenda' or altar in their home, which is table that shows pictures of deceased loved ones, food, candles, flowers, and objects that the family members used when they were alive. Day of the Dead is a holiday to honor your family, it has little do with Halloween. Day of the Dead is a time to meet with family, and remember family members who have already died. I

Halloween is on the 31st and the other is on the 2nd Halloween is Celtic and day of the dead is Latino.. I could be wrong though I use to know years ago
