You can't get rid of colic, you just have to wait it out. Keep trying to comfort your baby.

I would make sure it is collic first and not GERD. The symptoms are very very similar and most doctors misdiagnose a baby with GERD for a baby with collic because if it's collic there is nothing you can do. GERD however there is but the doctor will actaully have to get involved and do something. I had a nurse in the ER tell me that after about the third time I took my first baby in and I was told not to worry it is just colic. She told me to demand my doctor do a milk scan to make sure because if it was GERD and I did nothing it although it usually goes away by 4 to 5 months like colic if it is GERD and dosen't go away it could be very serious to my daughter's health. I had the scan done and she had GERD, and the same followed with my other two. After about 1 week home from the hospital they cried nonstop so I had the test on all of them. It was GERD and they were put on meds along with thickened formula and were the happiest babies ever from then on out.

Theres no getting rid of colic....its something that passes in time. Although Mylicon helps the gas it still doesn't soothe the baby all that much. When my daughter had it I used this stuff called gripe water, it was only a temp. solution but it worked. Then I also bought a good bacteria called Baby Life. Bifidobacteria is the dominant naturally occuring healthy bacteria found in the gastrointestinal tracts of healthy breast-fed babies. So if ur breastfeeding ur baby might be lacking this. I added some to my daughters milk twice a day, u can pump and give, or sprinkle on ur nipple before the baby latches on. If ur not breastfeeding tho u can try humphries colic tablets there another homeopathic approach, they sell a lot of things for colic that a healty food store.

There is a great homeopathic product called Hylands Colic Tablets. I provided a link below. It is 100% safe and natural and made for babies with colic

Also a good book to read is the Happiest Baby On The Block
This author says that colic is not really colic and that there are ways to comfort your child... here is the short version....

Swaddle your child tight and rock them and give them something to suck on.

Colic you cannot get rid of. Make sure you have a lot of patience and keep telling yourself that it goes away at about 3 months. Car rides help and rocking. I used to put her on her stomache and walk around my house until she fell asleep. If you feel that your getting frustrated put her in her crib and walk away to calm down a little, she'll cry but it's OK. If gripe water is available to you buy some without alcohol, it worked for me like a dream. Have patience and understanding.

I have 3 children, and what I did was go to an asian grocery and got something called collic for babies, it is a glass bottle, with a pic of a child on it, it was WONDERFUL! also lay your baby across your legs tummy down and rub his/her back, this is soothing.

Go to Walmart and but Myclacon. They also have a generic version. The main ingredient is Symethicone and it works wonders. Be sure to read the label. I used this along with Vent-air bottles and had no colic problems.

Colic usually disappears at around 3 months. If you are breast feeding, be careful with your diet, anything that gives you wind, will also affect the baby. If you are bottle feeding, make sure the teat hole is not too big or too small and the milk flows freely.

My son had colic when he was a baby and no matter what i done he still would cry. I would use gas drops but it didn't help then i took him to the doctor and he wrote my baby out some drops that are just for colic and they worked!
I would go to the doctor and ask for drops for colic.
