My dad once asked me to stand with my back to him. I did so. He asked me to lean backwards and promised me that he'd catch me. I doubted him and said so (I was eleven at the time) but he reassured me so I duly leant back. Thwack!! I hit the floor with a sickening thud.
Dad laughed his head off, then said "Remember this, Son, trust no one, not even your dad."
That's the best bit of advice I've ever been given. Still have the bruises to show for it!!

Go to college, get all the education you can. On his death bed, one of the last things my Dad said to me about college was, "I don't care what you have to do, crawl, if you must, but get there." I have never regretted doing just that!

There is no such word as 'can't' unless you have tried it first and even then it doesn't exist because you tried.
My grandma told that to me when I was young, she was Italian, strict and strong minded, its always worked for me thankfully.
