Windows 98 is longer supported by anyone or anywhere anymore, so if its a matter of a dll file missing, then its looking for the old version to reinstall. Uninstall the mesenger completely from your out of date going to take a big crap on you any day now pc, and then search around for downloads for messenger and contact their support for links to older versions.

W98 is no longer supported by Microsoft. I'd strongly advise you to get XP, service pack2, and the latest versions of IE, (IE7). The more you continue with W98, the more trouble you'll get into. Things just die, you know, and the time has come for W98. And be sure your pc supports VIsta, because XP's time is coming soon too.

Maybe it's time for you to get a new PC... Think about it.
