Because they have never done cheerleading, dance, or gymnastics. If they did, they would have a lot more respect for it and call it a sport, which it is.

I think some people don't consider cheerleading a sport, because they don't realize all the hard work it takes. Some people think cheerleading is just about going out and shaking everything. They can seem to understand it takes months and years of practice to be able to do stunts and jumps and dance moves. If you are a cheerleader and someone says that cheerleading is not a sport, invite them to a couple of practices. This works really great if you are on an all-star team. Then maybe they will SHUT UP!!

Because we aren't running at each other like cavemen and hitting each other lol. I think people are slowing catching on that this takes ALOT of work and ALOT of physical and mental strength!

i think you have to be in great shape to do it so i think it's more of a sport than volleyball.
