Dragons may have existed in the past or even today. We dont know the truth because there are still a lot of places that are not discovered and many things still hidden in this world.
Ill probably take a course in genetic engineering and zoology and attempt to make a dragon myself so that they may fulfill peoples fantasy.

Myths are usually based on some sort of fact that got told and retold so many times and each time the story got embellished a bit more so its possible that a "dragon" was in existence but probably not what we currently believe to be a dragon.....if that makes any sense.

chances are that the idea of the dragon is the result of ancient cultures discovering the bones of dinosaurs, and not having the technology to see them as such(even in modern times we've had to adjust our ideas about what they looked like and did)
The originators of the Dragon mythos in each culture probably looked at the structure and saw that it could be a large scale version of their modern lizards, they then combined those two images and formed the giant flying lizard. The breath of fire is often applied because it was believed that Dragons resided in the craters of Volcano's and when the Volcano belched lava or smoke, the natives assumed it was the Dragon who was angered.
If you have access to the History channel, they run stuff about Dragons every few months or so.

well, technically dragons still exist...the komodo dragon of indonesia...it's all on how you look at things...if you're looking for the typical "mythological" creature from movies and fairy tales, you're not going to find it. It's all left to theory now. You have a right to believe in whatever you want. The nice thing about not having any solid evidence is that you can tell yourself dragons existed.

Short answer: yes. Longer answer, as we know dragons today, huge flying creatures who shoot fire, no, never existed. I do believe however that some creatures existed in times before recorded history (like the pterodactyl) that made people frightened and thus, the dragon was born.

That depends on what you want to believe, many people are now noticing the same thing and questioning did they exist, I for one believe they did because everyone from the old days have a tail about dragons and such... but like I said its your choice ^.^

I believe that the dragon myths are racial genetic memories of times when big lizards roamed the earth.

Yes,they exsisted and still do.What you have to understand is that animals that we are familiar with have been called by other names. The unicorn is likely the rinocerous, and the dragon is likely the crocodile. If you read the Old Testament scriptures it describes these and they sound very similar.
