First off--I gotta laugh--
Since most of my dumb-*** college dormy people couldn't tell that the bishonen on my wallpaper WERE boys--
I don't think you have to worry.
Second--Anime, and Japan itself aren't so uptight about "bubble space" anyway--and they are very close.
My english teacher just about popped a gasket when my friend and I gave a presentation on our favorite anime. There was a tender picture up there--and he was all freaked about lesbians.
We had to reassure him--that the boys were like that TOO.

I don't know why there would be a problem. I doubt colleges would inspect your laptop. If you are really nervous you could get an external hard drive or a jump drive.
