It is hard to say exactly. AZ weather is rather erractic, can be 85 one day and 50 the next, can ran on your neighbor's house and not yours (honestly). Around Xmas, best bet would be to bring some long sleeve shirts and jeans. It will most likely be a bit nippy but not extremely cold (especially if you are from a colder climate) although if you are out at night you would definitely want a jacket. It can get very chilly at night and desert cold is a bone biting cold that is hard to explain. Think layering, so if it is warmer you can take something off and if it is colder you have something to put on.

I am not sure what your idea of cold/warm is, but I would say for that time of year it is fairly nice out. Daytime will be great, sunny, warm but not usually shorts weather. Night time you will probably want a light jacket or a sweater.
I remember last year I went to a christmas party and by the time we left, around midnight, it was freezing outside to my standard, but years prior I remember a few times wearing a tshirt. So it is iffy. Just bring some tshirty weight things and a jacket, you should be fine.

typically Pheonix in the winter fair. The days could range between 55 and 65 but the nights could easily get down to the 20's. Some rare years it could get cold enough for flurries or full blown light snow. The bottom line is, sweaters light jackets, jeans khakis. If you're from a place that's really cold, you might want to include some shorts and t-shirts. Pheonix might feel warm to you.

PHX is amazing for winters (avg 70s')... but every place has its weakness and summers here are like winters everywhere else except flip the word cold for heat (running from building to building to escape the heat).
Bring at least a pair of shorts, some jeans, t-shirts and wind breaker. While there is no wind, the night can be chilly to some.

i've been an az resident for 15+ years now and i've only seen snow ONCE and it wasn't even sticking to the ground!!
typical winter weather here is low 50's to mid 40's at the coldest. further north of phoenix (prescott, flagstaff, payson, etc) it is snow climate so if you are going to be in that area-make sure to dress for snow.
if you are staying in phoenix or any outer lying cities-jeans,t-shirts,a few long sleeved shirts, a couple of sweatshirts (just in case), and a jacket should do just fine.
i just came back home from visiting chicago where the temp there was an average of 28-32 degrees. when i got back here to phoenix-the weather at nite felt warm to me-i didnt even need my jacket!! so if you are used to really cold weather-the temps here probably won't bother you
enjoy your trip!!

Well it depends on the day for one, as to what the weather will be like. So for your comfort I would take a few jeans, comfy pants, light long sleeve shirts, shorts and a few short sleeve shirts.
