Oh my God - Iwent to see this when it came out in the 7o's I remember being so scared that I had to sleep in my Mams room for at least a week. I was then given a cross & chain for my birthday which I went and had blessed by my local priest - I still can't watch the film and even the music makes my hair stand on end - has anyone else been affected by this movie or any other this way?

People who see this movie for the first time nowadays, I think they're expecting some serious slashing and buckets of blood. This is a phenomenon started, ironically, by John Carpenter's "Halloween" (which has very little graphic violence in it!)

"The Exorcist," however, pre-dates those films and it's more of a psychological thing, that this cute little girl could be so transformed by this supernatural event. Furthermore, the story presumes that there is, indeed, a Satan and a God who will occasionally battle through human beings. It's basically a different brand of scary.

I were given and get that reaction. I had a Bulldog (English), till now my cutting-edge dogs, and actual had human beings visit the different part of the line even as walking her. I even had one woman ask why i purchased a toddler killer, after I had 2 toddlers and a small toddler. I informed that woman off. My Bulldog (Lacy) became the sweetest soul, and there's no way she would damage my young children. She became very preserving of them, and that i'm particular she kept my daughter quicker or later. a guy got here as a lot as our fence and became attempting to communicate my 7 year old woman into coming as a lot because the fence. Lacy were given between them and began barking. She does not enable him contained in the gate, or enable my daughter get to the gate. I went to the door to confirm what became occurring and the guy bolted. Lacy were given a effective take care of that day. I also get this reaction with my Boxer. i'm used to it by technique of this aspect, or perhaps though it angers me, i attempt to coach human beings. I tell them that my dogs is sweet and mild, in basic terms because she is enormous does not recommend she is undesirable. I enable my young children puppy dogs that we see out walking, in spite of the indisputable fact that the guideline is they ought to stay out of the dogs attain till eventually they ask the owner even if it really is high quality? If the owner says sure I even don't have any challenge with my young children petting any dogs, yet i'm continually correct next to them. i do not want my young children to toughen up frightened of animals, fairly considering that my oldest boy must be an animal conservationist. upload i wager my dogs (boxer) possibly scary searching, yet i'm unable to confirm how with those huge droppy ears, and those sweet puppy eyes. I in basic terms see the large softy i comprehend she is.

I saw the movie when I was a child in the 80's, it completely terrified me. I was unable to sleep for months after. Fortunately as an adult I believe religion and all that is associated with it is totally fictional. I thoroughly enjoy horrors now although I have not been scared by one since the Exorcist...

I never found it very scary. I didn't see it until I was 13 or 14 though; by that time, i'd been desensitized to those kindd of movies by current horror flicks.

Linda Blair's head spinning around is still one of the alltime most horrific monsters ever put on film. I used to be scared to turn my head when I was sleeping thinking she'd be on the other side and her head would start spinning .....

this film made me laugh, especially the un edited version, when she walks down the stairs on her hands, and then turns her head all the way round., i think they should do a re make of this version as graphics these days will make it 10x better.
