Saddam Hussein was convicted today and sentenced to hang for crimes against humanity in the 1982 killings of 148 people in a single Shiite town. When it comes time for his hanging to take place, should Americans hold public celebrations to commemorate the joyous event of one of our biggest enemies?

NO ONES DEATH SHOULD BE CELEBRATED. HIS LIFE IS JUST AS PRECIOUS TO HIS LOVED ONES AS YOURS IS TO YOUR FAMILY. WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG AND HE SHOULD DIE FOR THAT BUT PITY HIM DON'T CELEBRATE. SADDAM WAS A THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES BUT HE IS NO LONGER. THANKS TO OUR TROUPES CELEBRATE THERE LIVES NOT SADDAMS DEATH THIS JUST MAKES HIM A MARTYR.

He wil not be tried yet because the presential elections are upon us,and it could cause an outrage among the republican party to vote in another direction. This is why he's able to appeal and he will get it..............Its simple "listen to what I say very carefully and write this day down" He will file for appeal he will go back to trial some time after the Presedential Elections. He will then be "Freed"..You see for the people who really think that he will be sent to Death. Understand this, he is no ordinary man This is Saddam Hussein and Yes he does have connections with some the most powerful people in the U.S. and Other Areas. People like this dont die their too rich and most importantly, they hold too many secrets that can bring other important people down.

The Americans and all the world knows that Saddam has not harmed US but was considered enemy as a future threat but this theory is disproved so why the Americans should celebrate his death in fact his country men who were harmed by him will celebrate.

NO ! When the times comes, Americans should go about their normal business ... Saddam didn't kill Americans ? The Iraqi people should be the ones celebrating !!! A horrible man died and that should be celebrating in Iraq not in the U.S of A.

I would choose not to celebrate our hypocracy of murdering a murderer. If I choose to rob my neighbor who I hear is a thief should they prosecute me or throw me a party?
