An honesty question...?

Well I was wondering about something and see if you could help me?

Anyway I'm an honest person and occasionally tell white lies. But when I tell someone that I white lied to someone else about something, they say that I didn't lie that was the truth.

So am I an honest perfectionist or something?

I'll give you examples

I told someone else that I told this guy namy times no. But what I didn't tell this person that most of them was nonverbal. I told some of my friends what I said and my friend said that's not lying that's the truth.

Or I told my teacher I was sick and had personal situations to sort through I felt like I was lying but the others said it's not because one I was sick and two I had personal situations to sort through.



So what do you guys think?

Or one time I was shopping with my friends, my check was rejected for no reason(wasn't nowhere else) so one of my friends offered to pay for my pricey stuff. I saw in her eyes that I couldn't talk her out of it. So I told my mom that I tried to talk her out of it but she did it anyway. Someone else said that I didn't lie to my mom it's true. (Don't worry I wrote a check for her personally).

You're being too hard on yourself. Sometimes a lie is when you intentionally leave out information that you know is important to make a story sound different than it actually is. The point would be to mislead someone. You are not doing this. You do not have to over explain every detail of your life to someone to be an honest person. If you feel that the details are really that important, then add them.

If someone asked me what I did last night and I told them I watched movies all night long, I would not be lying if I didn't tell them what movies they were or that I was eating a sandwich at the same time.

I think that racism doesn't have to pertain to only skin color. A lie is a lie, whatever color it is painted. In order to consider yourself an honest person, you must first have the abilty to be honest with yourself. In situations where a Non-Verbal NO is utilized, it would be good to know that the individual being told no is psychic, or a very perceptive person. I feel for you, I understand your issue, but I must be stern in telling you to steer clear of situations that may lead you to the same stop sign you have reached here. Stop signs don't tell you when it is time to go. Not speaking doesn't tell anyone anything. Anonymous entries on a site devoted to answering questions leave much to the imagination. If there is an issue in your life that is hurting you emotionally, spritually, or last but not least...physically...Seek help. Be honest, and don't allow shame to lead you into a chain of destructive statements. Best wishes young lady. Personal is one thing...repressing feelings and waiting to the last minute because you wanna be tough is the wrong route to take.

If you want to be a ethical and trust worthy person, there are no excuses a lie, white or not, is still a lie. Don't listen to your ethically challenged friends and tell the truth.

If the reasons you gave your teacher were legit, why did you feel you were lying..........
