i need to write something for veterans day to read in front of them and the school. what should i do? a poem, an essay thanking them.. ? any ideas and what should i include?

i like the essay. you could write about how they stand up and tell everyone else that this is special, this i will protect with my flesh and my spirit, you can not touch this. people have always talked down about our armed forces, but what would they do with out them? they willingly put themselves between everyone else that would love to take our country apart, just because we are different.

My husband is very passionate about this since he's a veteran of war. On Veteran's Day, all veterans want to hear is "Thank you". Model your essay around that. Remind everyone what the day is about, and all the people who fought and died, but also give honor to those who fought and lived through it for our freedoms.

A poem would be good, thank them for what they have done for our country. I am a veteran myself, from the Iraq war I was sent to Iraq before the war started in jan of 2003. Alot of people dont' take the time to thank our military services for what we have done in the past and what we are doing now.
