Forgiving him for being a tyrant and murderer is not the same as absolving him of guilt or sparing him the consequences that will result from his inhumanities. He should not be spared punishment.

No, he needs to be executed. It's too risky that he would otherwise find some way to come back into power, even if he only had someone carrying out his wishes outside of his prison cell.
