The truth is I use several. One is to say each word. That means that if you want to remember a sentence, say the first word in the sentence, then the first two words, then the first three words...
By the time you get to the end of the sentence you have it memorized.
Another way is to associate it with a picture in your mind. If you know someone with the name "Vanfish" for instance. You would imagine a picture of a van with a bunch of fish sticking out the back of it.
Another way is to create an acronym for what you are trying to remember.
I could go on forever.

four request is too vague. Techniques to remember what? Each kind of matter calls for a different technique. Pasteurization, Peg technique etc. are some of the well known ones. The best I know is to take genuine interest in the matter at hand or the person you are introduced to . Memory is well tuned to take care of and retain WHATEVER YOU ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN

Repetition is the best technique. Study for 12 minutes EVERY day.
You can also make sentences to help you remember such as:
My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas.

it depends if you are audio or visual or both, there are some techniques that work better for both, but I find as I get older I just forget anyway.
In visual you have to see the answer first and in audio if you hear the answer you remember better a lot of people find that if they look at it and say it out loud it uses both and they remember better
