I need information on my science project.

If you plant some seeds, the one in the dark will most likely be taller for a short period of time. The plant will be stretching to reach the light as quickly as possible. It won't have as many leaves or be as healthy as the one in the light, and it will eventually die.

Walk through a forest/woods. Notice the height difference between the trees (which get the sunlight) and the plants growing on the forest floor (which get very little light).

To experiment, plant two bean or other seeds. Grow one in a window and one in a cupboard. See which one grows tallest.

Since plants require light to grow, a plant in the dark will definitely grow substantially less than a plant in the light.
