i moved in with my sister and her house is close to the stree and lot of dust be coming in with passing cars or air currents . is it ok if after computer cools off, to cover it with a blanket or a bed sheet to avoid dust going in the back part where the fans are ? will it mess up the motor's ?

Unless you have no heat/ac and are leaving the windows open 24/7, outside air isn't a concern. It's the inside air you need to worry about, replace the heat/ac filters regularly and use the canned air to dust the machine out about every 6 months.

Unless you are expecting your computer to get rained on, there's really no need to cover it any more than you cover your countertops or furniture. The only time the inside of the computer is going to see airflow is when it's running, in which case you wouldn't be able to have a cover on it anyway.

you could go cheap, try pillow cases.
Most computer stores will carry them, they're vinyl, so make sure it doesn't make contact with any outlets. Yo shouldn't be covering the back of the computer where the fan is located; it might over heat. Have you try Fry's Electronics?

you should build a custom desk out of wood to house your computer and its components, this will look good and help protect your computer from the dust.
