The answer to your question is already in your question: you say "your woman"--so the view expressed here is that a woman is possessed by someone. "Your" is the possessive pronoun.
The larger question is "Why is it against the law to beat ANYONE in America?" The answer is that we try to be a civilized society. Do people get beaten? Yes. Women by men? Yes. So are we a perfect society? No. But do we have laws against beating people? Yes. Why? Because we are TRYING to be civilized. Also, there is a capital "a" in America.

I don't mean to be offensive here, but I need to state the obvious. You appear to be black. You cannot be beat women for the same reason a good old souther man can't tie you to a tree and work you over. America protects anyone within it's borders, no matter if they are black, white, indian, asian, women or man. That is about as plainly as I can put it.

It's called abuse. You can't beat your kids or animals either. You aren't allowed to just knock the crap out of a person because you feel like it or they disappointed you or something. Can't drop kick the dog across the room because they peed on your carpet. Got to find some other outlet to vent your frustrations. Punch a rock.

Because we have secular laws. Yes, according to the Bible you can beat your wife, but that doesn't make it legal in America. If you'd like to live in a country governed by religious law, I'd suggest Saudi. There, you won't just be able to beat your wife, you'll also be able to have her stoned to death if she commits adultery.

On the off chance that you are not joking...

First, because people are no longer considered property in the USA, and haven't been since the mid-1800s.

Second, because one person cannot legally beat any other person -- it's a crime (assault and battery). Gender doesn't matter.

For the same reason it is illegal to shoot the man that beats the woman.

We believe that there are no good reasons to assault anyone. And we believe all people, not just men, have rights.

"...we hold these truths to be self evident..."

Because our women are our equal partners with all rights and priveliges and rights accorded to any citizen.

Only primitive, barbaric cultures (and New Orleans Saints fans) do otherwise.
