what do i write at when i get done fdisk and set the partition? im at the piont that shows the A: nowe wht do i do to get it to let me stare installing a new operating system (what comand to i enter to putr it on my C: drive) ???

You should provide more information if you want additional details.
Normally you'd simply restart with the OS installation CD and follow the prompts. Afterwards, install all your hardware drivers CDs, run your Windows updates and install your software.

If you did fdisk, you just formatted, and now that hard drive is ready to go. Put your OS disk in the drive, and turn the computer on. Press any key when it says press any key to book from CD, and follow the instructions from there, which depend so much on which operating system you are using, I can give you no help untill I know which one you mean.

The command/ program to run is on the cd!
You can change the drive letter by typing:
d:
and the find the setup.exe program
Or
You can change the bios to boot from the CD then restart the computer. You will have to change this setting back when you have finished.

if you have format the drive you just type in
d:\ set up
then hit enter
if you have to format frist type in
format hit the space key then type in
c:\
hit enter
and format the hard drive then when that is done at the (a) promt againm type in
d:\
hit enter
then type in setup
